Hi Danny and welcome to the board.
Interesting picture, where did you get it from? If I had to take a guess I'd say there's definitely Shar Pei involved, I have some historic pictures of Shar Peis somewhere, where they're not so overdone with the wrinkles and they look quite similar. I'll try to find them when I get home from work and post them here. What exactly do you mean by Zulubull? Never heard of it before. Take care, regu. |
:30: COOL, so werden die Englischkenntnisse mal wieder aufgefrischt. Warum nicht ;)

Hi regula,
Thanks for your welcome! I'm not really sure but i believe the zulubull is a crossbreed mainly used as fighting and hunting dog (south africa) They are a cross between boerboels, bulldogs, greyhounds etc. Because there is no real standard there are all kinds of dogs called Zulubull over there. It is a picture from a magazine Prof Semincic found (so thanks Prof!!) He ripped it out in the early 90's I'm really interested to find out what kind of dogs they are!! greetings |

Thanks again!!
This site has a great encyclopedia!! I somethimes visit molosserdogs.com's forum aswell!!! greetings :36: |
Hi!
For me the dog on the right side looks like a Ridgeback. The other dog reminds me of a Tosa inu or Boerboel. I think it might be a Boerboel, so both would be dogs from Afrika? Bye, simone. |
Hi Danny,
I found those old Pei pictures again, they're from the Shar Pei Club of Hong Kong page. Here you go: http://www.sharpeiclubhk.com/DV00002.jpg Hong Kong, 1950s http://www.sharpeiclubhk.com/macau.JPG Macau 1950s http://www.sharpeiclubhk.com/hist1.JPG China 1970s http://www.sharpeiclubhk.com/IronMonkey.jpg A Shar Pei named "Iron Monkey", a famed fighter in the 1950s in Macau |
Here's more:
http://www.sharpeiclubhk.com/Dai-Fan-Shu.jpg http://www.sharpeiclubhk.com/sharpei60.jpg http://www.sharpeiclubhk.com/bitch1.jpg Amazing, how the breed has changed in relatively little time, hey? I do see a resemblance to the dogs in your picture above though, don't you? Take care, regu. |
Well i do think that the first dog on my picture resembles the second dog on the hongkong1950's foto's.
I posted this foto because i have no idea what kind of dogs they are. My first guesses are: the dog on the left is a sharpei the dog on the right a ridgeback. It could both be boerboels aswell since there are so many different lines in this breed.............and this is an old picture so.......could be...boerboel. Well anyway i'm having a great time puzzling about this picture :36: bye |
