Sorry, aber als verlässliche Quellen würde ich Wikipedia, ein Quiz und dergleichen wirklich nicht bezeichnen.

Falls du an fundierten Quellen interessiert bist, schau dir mal A History of the First British Police Dog Section an (von 2003... aber in der Zwischenzeit dürften immer noch keine BMs hinzugekommen sein.)

Hier steht u.a.:

"The Dog Section Today - With a strength of 64 dogs the British Transport Police Dog Section is one of the largest in the country. There are 34 General Service Dogs all but one being German Shepherds (the exception is "Thor" a Rottweiler based in London.)“

Btw: die ersten britischen Polizeihunde waren Airedales... trotzdem würde man die heutzutage auch nicht mehr als von der britischen Polizei eingesetzte Hunde bezeichnen.

Beim Police Service of Northern Ireland z.B. sind die derzeit gelisteten Polizeihundrassen:

"German Shepherd
Labrador
Springer Spaniel
Malinois
Cocker Spaniel“

Auch die BBC schreibt nichts von BMs:
"There are approximately 2,500 police dogs in England and Wales. [...]The most popular breed for police work is the German Shepherd, chosen for its intelligence and highly developed senses, they also tend to be more instinctively suspicious of strangers than other breeds.“

Auf der offiziellen Website des Metropolitan Police Dog Training Establishment (England!) heisst es:
"The Metropolitan first began to breed working dogs in the 1950's, with the programme picking up pace in 1962 when we imported German Shepherds from quality working lines (4 bitches and 2 dogs) from the continent. Since that time, the breeding programme has flourished now boasting approximately 34 brood bitches and providing about 80% of all operational police dogs working within the Metropolitan Police Service as well as providing dogs to provincial and overseas police and prison services as well as military establishments. Breeds catered for within our breeding programme include German Shepherds, English Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels and Labradors.“
